Acceptable Use Guidelines
Last updated: June 2026
This page expands on Section 5 (Acceptable Use) of our Terms of Service. It is not a separate agreement. It describes in more detail what compliant use of Lameda looks like. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Products and listings
Your catalogue must not include:
- Counterfeit, replica, or unlicensed branded goods
- Items that are illegal to sell under Nigerian law, including restricted substances, weapons, and prohibited wildlife products
- Stolen goods or goods obtained through fraud
- Listings that materially misrepresent condition, quantity, or authenticity of a product
2. Messaging and broadcasts
Lameda’s broadcast feature is for reaching your own opted-in customers, not for unsolicited outreach. You must not:
- Send broadcast messages to customers who have not opted in to hear from your store
- Use broadcasts to send content unrelated to your products, pricing, or order updates
- Continue messaging a customer who has asked to stop hearing from you
- Use Lameda to send bulk unsolicited messages to numbers or accounts you scraped or purchased rather than acquired through genuine customer interest
3. Use of the AI assistant
Your assistant represents your store. You must not configure your catalogue or business information in a way that causes the assistant to:
- Quote prices or stock availability you know to be false
- Confirm orders for products you do not actually have or intend to fulfil
- Mislead customers about delivery timelines, refund terms, or product specifications
- Impersonate a human when a customer directly and reasonably asks whether they are speaking with a person
If the assistant gives an incorrect answer despite accurate catalogue data, use Handoffs in your dashboard to step in and correct the conversation directly.
4. Platform policies
Because Lameda operates through Telegram, WhatsApp, and Instagram, your use of the platform must also comply with each channel’s own terms of service and commerce policies, including Telegram’s Terms of Service, Meta’s WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, and Meta’s Instagram platform policies. A violation of a connected channel’s policy through your use of Lameda is treated as a violation of this policy as well.
5. Consequences
Violations of these guidelines are handled under Section 5 and Section 10 of our Terms of Service. Depending on severity, this can include a warning, temporary suspension of your assistant or broadcast access, or termination of your account without prior notice. Where a connected channel (Telegram, WhatsApp, or Instagram) suspends or restricts your account directly due to a policy violation, Lameda is not able to restore that access on your behalf.
6. Reporting a concern
If you believe another merchant is violating these guidelines, or you have a concern about a conversation your own assistant handled, contact us at onboarding@lameda.com.ng.
