Your business profile is not paperwork. It is the source your assistant reads from every time a customer asks a question that is not strictly about a product.
What goes into it
- Your business name, as customers should see it in chat.
- What you sell, in a short, clear description.
- Operating hours, including days you are closed.
- Delivery areas, delivery cost, or pickup arrangements.
- Return, exchange, or cancellation policy, if you have one.
Why it matters more than it looks like it should
A large share of what customers ask before buying is not about a specific product. It is “are you open now,” “do you deliver to Ibadan,” or “can I return this if it does not fit.” Your assistant answers these instantly and correctly only if the answer is already sitting in your business profile or your Knowledge FAQs. Leave a field blank, and the honest answer your assistant can give is that it does not know, which is a worse experience than the customer just asking you directly would have been.
Keep it current, not just complete
A business profile filled in once and never touched again drifts out of date. If your hours change for a holiday period, if you start delivering to a new state, or if you pause taking orders for a restock, update the profile the same day. Customers messaging your assistant at 11pm do not know your hours changed last week unless you told the system.
A quick way to check it is working
Message your own assistant on your connected channel and ask it the three questions customers ask most: are you open, do you deliver here, and what is your return policy. If any answer is vague or wrong, that is a gap in your business profile, not a flaw in the assistant.
