We get asked this a lot, usually in the middle of someone comparing us to three other things that are not quite what we are. Here is the plain version.
What Lameda is
Lameda is a chat-commerce platform built for Nigerian merchants who sell through Telegram, WhatsApp, and Instagram. You add products to a catalogue in your dashboard, share a store link, and from there your assistant takes over the selling conversation: it answers product questions, walks customers through checkout, and confirms payment automatically through Paystack. You get notified in real time, and the order lands in your dashboard’s Orders queue ready to fulfil.
Underneath the selling, Lameda also handles bookkeeping and expense logging, computes VAT under the FIRS 2026 framework, and gives you tools, including Broadcasts, Team, and Handoffs, to run the business end of a growing store without hiring a full staff to do it.
What Lameda is not
- Not a website builder. There is no separate site for customers to visit; the entire experience happens inside the chat app they already use.
- Not a generic chatbot. Your assistant does not freewheel; it answers from your Catalogue and the Knowledge FAQs you write, and hands off anything uncertain to a human.
- Not a booking or appointment tool. Lameda is built for product-order commerce, items a customer buys and you fulfil, not scheduling services or appointments.
- Not an app your customers install. Customers never leave Telegram, WhatsApp, or Instagram to buy from you.
Who it is built for
Merchants running a real product business through chat, whether fashion, beauty, electronics, food, or wholesale, who are tired of tracking orders in their DMs, checking screenshots by hand, and having no clean records when tax season arrives. If that describes how you sell today, Lameda is built to replace that exact set of problems.
